Three brands one philosophy

Modern Music School’s concept rests on three pillars:

Modern Music School
DJ school, VibrA School of DJing, and
Kling Klong, our holistic early music education program

Each franchise can combine these programs and offer what best suits their interests and the demands of their locations.

Modern Music School is the main program of the MMS franchise system. Founded in 1987 by Hans-Peter Becker, it offers lessons for guitar, bass, drums, piano and voice, as well as workshops and band lessons. Its target group is as extensive as the range of rock and pop music: from kids, six years or older, to teens, adults and even older adults -- beginners, intermediates and professionals.

Kling Klong is a holistic approach to early music education for children from 1 1⁄2 to 7 years of age. It centers around children’s natural development of musicality and follows carefully prepared lesson plans to further support this natural development. The child-appropriate rhythm instruments and keyboards, as well as other media, are used in a playful way to nurture children’s natural love of music. Many Kling Klong students choose to learn an instrument by the age of six or seven, and when there’s a Modern Music School program nearby, nearly all continue to play music with us.

VibrA School of DJing (VSD), formerly known as Vestax dj-school, joined the Modern Music School family in 2002. VibrA offers lessons in djing and producing to beginner students, as well as advanced djs and producers working towards professional careers.
